And as that article points out, ACORN is very proactive in flagging bad registrations (which they are bound by law to turn in even if they know they are bad), in firing workers that submit them, and in cooperating with the authorities. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of this latest raid.

ACORN pays workers to get registrations, often with quotas, and those workers sometimes submit fake registrations to meet their quota and justify their pay. That's the extent of this.
Stuffing the rolls? Seriously doubt it. The people were trying to get paid and fudged their way to a paycheck. Too bad for the legitimate people that might not be able to vote now - I'm not sure about Indiana's rules, some states let you register the same day.
When I posted this, I meant to begin it with - that I was agreeing with Lurker.

Fraud by an ACORN worker to pad his registrations is not the same as ACORN, the organization, stuffing the rolls. The woman in the news article would not have been able to vote twice no matter how many times an ACORN worker submitted her application or ballot. Also, considering how proactive ACORN the organization is in flagging bad registrations and cooperating with authorities, it's clear they aren't trying to stuff the rolls.

Your understanding of all this is extremely shallow and limited. Dig a little deeper.

I don't have to wonder why Taxious thought he was a troll this whole time. If your news sources are seriously Drudge & Fox...oy. I don't even know what the liberal equivalent would be to that besides Huffington.

Did either of you even watch the fucking video? Please for the love of god quit being so close minded and listen to it.

The women got a call from the Board of Elections tell her she may not be eligible to vote because she was registered at 6 different addresses... How is that not stuffing the rolls?

I'm just gonna go to the corner and bash my head into the wall while Lurker continues to be close-minded...

There's still hope for Harlowe, but lets be honest... shes the only one of the two that actually has a brain.

You're all arguing apples and oranges.

Yes, the workers for ACORN were stuffing the rolls.
No, ACORN as an organization wasn't, in fact they were working hard to get as many REAL registrations as possible.
No, this roll stuffing by the workers would have had no effect on the election.
Yes, the GOP is using this as a good excuse to suppress voting in a strongly Democratic area by conflating the idea of registration fraud and actual voting fraud.
Yes, ACORN was completely retarded for doing what they did and probably gets what they deserved now that it's backfired.

I'll try one more time and then you can go bang your head against a wall.

1) ACORN worker Joe Blow registers the same woman a dozen times
2) ACORN the organization is bound by law to submit all the registrations it receives, even if they know they are bad.
3) ACORN the organization flags problem registrations when they send them to the Board of Elections

With those facts, how is ACORN guilty of trying to stuff the voter rolls? Add that we are talking about a dozen problems out of millions of registrations and the charge becomes even more absurd.

I'm sorry that your limited intelligence doesn't let you see any further than item 1) listed above. That's not my fault.

Not quite. They just weren't looking at the issue deeply enough.

This doesn't make sense considering your previous assertions. If ACORN wasn't trying to stuff the rolls, then what "backfired"? How were they "retarded" if they flagged the problem registrations and fired the workers in question?

Ddrak,
I'd also point out that you said exactly the same thing Harlowe and I have been saying so I don't get the "apples and oranges" part either.

They're retarded for creating a situation where workers are paid by the number of registrations they make, which is open season for abuse.

Tens of thousands of eligible voters in at least six swing states have been removed from the rolls or have been blocked from registering in ways that appear to violate federal law, according to a review of state records and Social Security data by The New York Times.

The actions do not seem to be coordinated by one party or the other, nor do they appear to be the result of election officials intentionally breaking rules, but are apparently the result of mistakes in the handling of the registrations and voter files as the states tried to comply with a 2002 federal law, intended to overhaul the way elections are run.

Still, because Democrats have been more aggressive at registering new voters this year, according to state election officials, any heightened screening of new applications may affect their party’s supporters disproportionately.
Again seemingly innocent actions disenfranchise legitimate voters disproportionately affecting democrats.
