Keating Economics

Post by Harlowe »

If you haven't seen it already http://www.keatingeconomics.com/.

You know I felt a little "argh"seeing first Ayers-Wright and now Keating come up. I feel like it's old news, no one really cares about it, it's playing on people's fears and it's a sure sign that this entire election is definitely headed towards hard-core dirty. I blame the McCain camp for starting it, because this isn't to say that I don't understand why the Obama camp did it. I figured it was going to be in their "In Case of Emergency Open" arsenal and I can understand with the whole Ayers-Wright nonsense being rehashed again, why they would do it, I'm just somewhat disappointed in both sides (mostly McCain of course he has run a sleazy campaign for quite awhile it just keeps getting sleazier) and wish they would have stayed on topic, on the issues and their plans....and forego Rovian politics. After finding out about Palin's dirty campaigning history, I knew that wasn't going to be possible, but man, I was hoping for better.

Yeah, I'm in wonderland.

Obama is not going sit around while he's being swiftboated. McCain wants to smear Obama with guilt by association no matter how tenious the connection. Obama is countering by pointing out McCain's guilt by guilt in the Keating scandal.

For Obama, this is a defensive move that will not overwhelm the message of his campaign or distract from his core issues. For McCain, this is the beginning of 30 days of ugly and will be all his campaign talks about from now until election day.

Like I said before. Did you really expect the Obama campaign to play ropeadope all thew way to Nov 4?

If they are going to beat him up over people he was vaguely connected to 10 or 20 years ago, then they have every right to respond in kind. Keating, G Gordon Liddy who spent 4 years in jail for crimes committed on behalf of the Nixon campaign, McCain's wife who stole drugs, Etc Etc.
