We watched this last night. I was thinking it was something live action, but it was computer animated (thank god). It was actually really a good movie for the entire family. There were subtleties for the adults that the kids couldn't pick up on, and it was entertaining enough for the kids to love it. All in all it's a pretty good movie for all ages.
Chimps get sent into space after a rover is sucked into a worm hole. The chimps are sent to make sure humans wouldn't explode going through the worm hole, and they safely land on the other planet. They have some interactions with the alien life on the other planet and end up missing their ride home, so they improvise and re-engineer the rover to become a space craft and fly it back to earth.
