Under the pressure of the financial crisis, one presidential candidate is behaving like a flustered rookie playing in a league too high. It is not Barack Obama.

Channeling his inner Queen of Hearts, John McCain furiously, and apparently without even looking around at facts, said Chris Cox, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, should be decapitated.
Not really......George Will has had a bone to pick with McCain for a long time. It has nothing to do with what is going on now:

If you want just Google both of their names to find all of his Op-eds about McCain.

I could list several Conservatives that have bones to pick with McCain. This guy doesn't seem too sold on Obama either (not a surprise if he's conservative), though his comments are far less pointed towards him. I wonder if he has op-ed's regarding Obama as well?

Many Conservatives are still trying to figure out where their vote is to go...

No I think I was pretty clear that George Will just doesn't like John McCain. Do you think all conservatives share the same opinions on candidates?

Not honest ones, no. But during this administration, it's much more common to see circle jerks and people afraid to say anything that would label them unpatriotic terrorist sympathizers that hate America.

That's why I am thrilled to see libertarians & conservatives alike waking up and realizing that a false sense of security isn't worth losing our liberty and that the GOP hasn't done any better with regard to fiscal responsibility (in fact worse) so, what is the point in supporting an ideology that just takes from us - money, freedom, pride...and gives back jack squat and squanders the power and money we give them on shit that Americans do not want.

It's true, I'm a middle-class parasite who pays her taxes. I should at the very least create a faux side business in my home so I can deduct the shit out of things.

Nah. You're not middle class. According to the people on this board your are not middle class until you can afford a house on the shore of lake Minnetonka.

McCain pissing off GOP chairman in Michigan

Mich GOP county chair calls McCain move "complete crock of crap"
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanm ... ml?showall
"If you are going to end visits to the state by McCain/ Palin, do it. Just don't formally announce that you are 'pulling out' of Michigan, and then come back two days later asking the base core of support to 'keep working.' What a slap in the face to all the thousands of people who have been energized by the addition of Sarah Palin to the ticket. I've been involved in County Party politics and organization for 40 years, and this is the biggest dumbass stunt I have ever seen...

He has given up on our State? What a total and complete crock of crap. Again, I think McCain owes the Republicans and the People of Michigan a HUGE APOLOGY. SOON!" - Jack Waldvogel, Chairman of the Emmet County GOP.

McCain/Palin's campaign is the most repugnant thing I've ever seen in my political life. Just when I think it couldn't get any lower, deceitful, hate-filled and irresponsible for our country, they prove to me you can put the bar lower.

Inciting RAGE with the things they are saying just to rile up their base? What are they trying to do, physically get him fucking assasinated??

They represent the lowest, the absolute worst of America. It's hateful, bigoted, and irresponsible.

Country first? My cat's furry ass. They are the people that are holding us back, further dividing our country and turning it into an intolerant hateful shithole.

Think about your statements Harlowe.

If you think McCain and Palin are incompetent boobs, yet you ascribe to them the power to manipulate large swaths of American people and somehow Jedi mind trick them into thinking a certain way.. who's really at fault here? The two mouths talking, or the millions listening?

Where does she mention millions of people or large swaths of Americans?
Embar wrote:who's really at fault here? The two mouths talking, or the millions listening?
So much for the party of personal responsibility. You don't think Palin and McCain are responsible for how people respond to their dishonest and disgusting smears? They aren't accountable at all for their actions?

Harlowe is absolutely correct that McCain and Palin represent the lowest and worst of America. Their current campaign rhetoric is disgusting and they stand idly by while their supporters yell "treason", "kill him", "terrorist" at their events. They do nothing while their supporters verbally attack the press covering their events. This is the face of the modern Republican party and their shrinking fringe supporters.

I expect no less from you Lurker, than to forget about responsibility for one's own actions. It is, as we know, the Liberal way.

I think they all have responsiblity for their actions; McCain, Palin, and their rabid supporters. Only you want to absolve some of the participants from responsibility.
