More Possible VP action?

Post by Tarfang_Trubasher »

Today the Libertarian's posted a message stating that Bob Barr has sent a letter to Dr. Ron Paul looking to replace Wayne Root as his Vice-President. Mr. Root said he would gladly give the seat to Dr. Paul as it would add continued strength to the Libertarian ticket.

Bob Barr's Web Site -- Be Advised, his site is SUPER slow since the email went out to subscribers.

It'll be exciting to see what happens, if anything. I don't know how that it will trump the current VP news, but...

If Ron Paul takes that it may guarantee the election for Obama. Watch the democrats put millions in to their campaign. A little payback for what your team did to us with Nader.

I like Ron Paul, I think he'll pull some independants though as well.

I don't have a team, sir. I've stated it multiple times that I don't have a candidate yet that I am comfortable supporting. In addition, having Conservative views doesn't immediately make me a Republican.

Harlowe, I'm curious the impact Paul my have on the Democrats as well. Obama has a strong showing among college aged and sub-30 voters. I believe Ron Paul is second to him in those polls. I'd toss some links to support that statement, but most of them are from the primaries. I just wonder if that would be enough, given the closeness of the "race" right now with McCain.

I think he'll pull from both, but moreso from McCain. I don't think significantly though, because I think his larger impact is those that would not have voted for either candidate, but Ron will bring them to the polls.
