I haven't seen it, but I am glad Katie Suckington Holmes Xenu Cruise and her man-hands aren't in it.

Did we watch the same movie? Bale just phoned that shit in.

I think that Heath Ledger made that movie, every scene with the Joker in it was incredible. Every scene without was lacking.

Fall, you don't think Aaron Eckhart did a good job?

I'm still up in the air on Eckhart's performance... I felt at times it was rather bland, and then sometimes it was decent. I'm probably gonna have to see it again to make a fair assessment.

I'm fucking stoked that Scarecrow was in it though... Main bad guy in the next movie, imo.

Fal, he was the main bad guy in the first movie. They'll throw someone new in for the third.

Did anyone catch the Catwoman reference?
Batman asks if his new armor will stand up to dog bites and is told it's cat-proof.

Easter egg hint if I ever saw one!

You fucking bastards...

With tix going for $100 in my area (off market of course), it'll be a couple of weeks before I can see the show. I simply refuse to pay a couple hundy to see a movie. I'll wait, and I'll thank the rest of you to shut the fuck up about it.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Frankly if you don't want to see anything about the movie there is no reason to come into this thread.

They'll throw more Scarecrow in for the third as well as some other people... probably Catwoman and Poison Ivy/Riddler/Harley Quinn (take your pick).

Also, Ra's Al Ghul was the main bad guy in Batman Begins... Scarecrow was just one of his pawns (much how Two Face was Joker's pawn in The Dark Knight).

Harley can't be there without the Joker. Also, Harley Quinn originated from Batman: The Animated Series. She was so popular they incorporated her into a few of the comics. The string they're going by might not involve Harley.

Good movie. Not epic or best of the year (hopefully) though as some have said.

I thought Ledger was definitely incredible in this. Certainly one of the best performances I can recall in a long, long time. I found the Holmes replacement girl was not only ugly, but not much an of anctress. Bale was just okay. It's hard to really judge with a character like Batman, though.

I'm thinking we'll see Catwoman or Penguin next. I'm interested to see what they do with the plot, given the way this one ended.

The string they're going by won't involve Poison Ivy because she has powers. Harley Quinn is pretty much a shoe in.

And they'll have to bring Joker back in at some point anyway.

Yeah don't pay $100 for it...

We went about 30 minutes before the 6pm showing of it on opening night and were about tenth in line.

Nolan is only doing three movies. I doubt they'll put the Joker back in out of respect and a fear of complaints that whatever new actor they pick is no Ledger.

I *highly* doubt we'll see a Harley ...even more than I doubt we'll see the Joker again. It's easy to say the Joker is in Arkham. They'll want to go with a new storyline with new villains to freshen it up.

Harley fetishes are cool, but she's just an animation creation and one of the Joker's cronies/fling. Catwoman, The Riddler, The Penguin, etc. stand on their own.

What're the odds of us seeing Robin in the next movie? This whole movie they really hammered home the 'batman can't do it alone' theme, but the end doesn't really lend itself to that happening. Plus, Robin doesn't seem to fit into the 'dark' world they've created in the series so far.

I have to admit, seeing the way that Ledger took the Joker and made the role his own has left me very disappointed with Bale. He hasn't taken the 'Batman' role and made it his own at all. He has portrayed the same Batman as everyone else -- a very unanimated, raspy voiced hero with a hard-on for 'doing the right thing'. They haven't added anything to the character at all, despite having 2 movies worth of backstory to account for it. He needs something more to make this a memorable character. Right now, you could replace Bale with pretty much anybody and I wouldn't really notice.

I couldn't really imagine Robin fitting in either, but I said that about The Joker too before I saw TDK.

Bale has already said that if they try to introduce Robin that he's bowing out.
