Re: The Dark Knight
Klast is somewhat correct. It is annoying when anyone does it. When Select does anything annoying it's 10 times as bad because she is such a fucking cunt. Seeing this a week in advance just screamed "NEENER NEENER I Started The Dark Knight Thread!!! Everyone talk in my thread!"
Btw you dumb whore: Harlowe's Post: 11 July 2008... Hellboy 2's Release Date: 11 July 2008. Harlowe gets a pass. Taxious sucks, but not as much as you. Both of them actually wanted to talk about the movies they posted on. Not just a "Oh by the way if you live in a FUCKING CAVE and haven't heard about the biggest blockbuster of the entire year or actually know what the internet is, here is a link"
Admit it slut, you did this for attention getting purposes and nothing else. Pretty much the same reason you do anything.

I think Minute needs a hug.

First you'd have to see it. Correcting someone generally indicates = not getting it.Select wrote:You can see the sarcasm and still think it's a stupid statement

Re: The Dark Knight
It really was for the Dark Knight. But... it's really funny that if I was attention whoring, it worked out anyway and everyone is posting in my thread. To take a page from Garr...Seeing this a week in advance just screamed "NEENER NEENER I Started The Dark Knight Thread!!! Everyone talk in my thread!

Re: The Dark Knight
The movie was fantastic and very sad at the same time. Heath Ledger's performance was amazing. Amazing in itself and amazing for being a successful new take on the Joker. How sad to lose good young talent.
I saw the truck scene enough in the previews, but the audience still gasped "Ohhhhh-" when it happened. The entire movie was more violent than I expected, but the violence made it seem more true Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight
Real surprised it got a PG-13, was awesomely dark. It's about time too. I realize that they want to appeal to the kiddies as that's probably a majority of the market, but I for one am glad to see a comic to movie line that didn't cater so much. Easily the best movie of the year. Ledgers expected twist on the Joker role was great. Bale's was equally phenomenal, as usual. Dude is currently my favorite male actor, even his lower budget stuff rocks. Hell even the supporting cast did great.
Pay to see it, you won't be sorry.

Wow, those are some good comments so far. I'm excited to see it in a couple hours.Minute wrote:Real surprised it got a PG-13, was awesomely dark.
Minute, did you ever see Velvet Goldmine?Minute wrote:Bale's was equally phenomenal, as usual. Dude is currently my favorite male actor, even his lower budget stuff rocks.

Ledger needs an honorary award for best Villain. If he were alive, I think he would have swept the award shows.

Re: The Dark Knight
I went and saw it today. Ledger is great as the Joker.
I prefer Jack Nicholson though, in the Tim Burton version.
Aaron Eckhart is the star of this movie. Too bad he won't recieve the praise he deserves when the awards come rolling in. It'll be forced weepy tributes all around. Ledger's smeared hottopic face was on almost every teenage girls shirt at the movie theater. GG pop culture iconography. Might as well take your James Dean poster and scribble some red around his mouth.
Other than my rant about the marketing and the hype behind the film -- I'd have to say it's pretty damn good.
Better than "Batman Begins"
Not even close to "Batman Returns"
Somewhere inbetween. Outside of being a 'batman' movie - I'd have to say it's the best movie this year. Wall-E is a close 2nd.

Re: The Dark Knight
I can mostly agree with that. I think he was better than Bale and I love Bale.Aaron Eckhart is the star of this movie.
I'd also like to point out how funny it is that you rant about Hottopic culture and then praise a Tim Burton movie, Garr.
Batman Returns is my second favorite Batman movie, so it's okay

Re: The Dark Knight
Tim Burton is just the tip of the iceberg. His productions are hit and miss. I like Big Fish, I dislike The Corpse Bride.
You can only do so much with dark and dreary until it becomes a standard visual/artistic format. (Deviantart army, WRU?)

I did appreciate the animation. Nice little shoutout to Mr. Harryhausen. Well... that's about all I appreciated

Psst, Garr. Do you think any rabid fanboys will be mad that we derailed this from Batman to the Corpse Bride?

Re: The Dark Knight
Apparently there's already talk of posthumous Oscar for Ledger. I remember reading somewhere that it was difficult for him to not present the Joker as Jack's Joker in terms of speech cadence. I'm going to see it on Monday.

Re: The Dark Knight
Wow, damn good movie and I actually liked Heath's take on the Joker even better than Jack's (as much as I like Bale a hell of a lot better than Keaton as Batman as well). I guess it's more the Batman as graphic novel rather than comic book feel of the latest films (we won't mention those in-between that were ridiculous).
I was thrilled Katy Holmes wasn't in it. She was a vortex of suck in the last one.
