The Happening
I'm rurl excited for this. Here is the redband trailer in case you haven't seen it yet:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioG7lMvP5vA
I generally like Shyamalan's stuff, except for Unbreakable and The Village. I would never say a movie he's done is groundbreaking, but they are fun to watch. I don't think The Happening will be any exception to his "WHAT A TWIST!?" style but I'm excited for it. I like all of the main actors in it too.
So far from the previews, it looks a lot like what happened on the discovered planet in Serenity. The power-to-be releases some kind of gas in the air expecting it to settle people down but it settles them down so much that they don't care about living anymore. In other situations, it makes people ultra-aggressive and these freaks are going to be the basic "omg-run-away" support of the movie.
Whatever happens, I hope Leguizamo's and MM's shirts come off.

Okay I think this is what it is, at least I read it somewhere...
I'm very excited about this one. I like his movies for the most part, the Village was a bit "meh" but I think I enjoyed it when I first saw it.

I like all of his stuff. LOVED Unbreakable. Liked The Village the least, but no real reason as to why comes to mind. I thought Dallas Bryce Howard acted her red-headed butt off. I really enjoyed The Lady in the Water, even though people threw fits and pissed themselves when they could believe he made such a fantasy (uhh, says on the poster: bedtime story.)
I'll definitely be going to see this one. Ever since The Departed, I've had a huge girl-boner for Mark W. I'm all over it.

Nah, Lady in the Water was a great movie. So reminiscent of the old 80s movie where the entire apartment building became goblins and demons and other stuff because the kid played hookie and didn't follow the rules.

Re: The Happening
Well it was a bit of a disappointment. So not insanely horrible, but probably the least interesting of his films. The previews were more tense/scary than the actual movie, which was cheesier and ultimately preachier than his other films.

QFE. I was pretty disappointed but I don't really know what I was expecting.Harlowe wrote:Well it was a bit of a disappointment. It was pretty horrible, the more I think about it. Wait for this one to come out on video, then download it.

Omfg this movie was horrible. Marky Mark should kick Shamalotasuck in the nuts for making him play this whiney fucking retarded ass role. Oh yeah and had less twist then The Village. Do not pay for this movie, in any format.
