What are you Watching Now (Part Deux)

Post by Alluveal »

Just curious what's out there that's catching your eyeballs.

For me, can't wait for House to come back (watched a nice marathon on USA today.)

Galactica (durh!) Pretty good season so far, though I think Chief is in for a shit-time this season.

Into Lost, season 3 now. Really enjoying it. Desmond episode I just saw was good. I kinda like him. Have a feeling Charlie's gonna be toast soon. Only so many times he can be saved. :)

Gone Baby Gone is on my nightstand. That's my treat for after my first final tomorrow. I'm a huge Dennis LeHane fan, so I can't wait to see what's been done with it.

Finished Jericho, season 1. Enjoyed it. Downloading season 2 as we speak from I-Tunes. Started slow, but I got into it once they stopped with the "OMGZORS, we have to move a huge vat of gas from one side of town to the other W/O Esssploding," and that's the ENTIRE EPISODE. Great to see D.B. Sweeney as a bad guy, too.

Watched The Departed. Loved it. Awesome. Big badda boom. Marky Mark rocks it.

I watched Gone Baby Gone and while I thought the movie in and of itself was good I can't support the line of thinking in it.

I did read Bad Monkeys by Matt Ruff which I thought was a fantastic book and kind of reminded me of the ex boyfriend who told me he was a member of an elite militaristic unit called the NCC who went in "when the Green Berets failed". Anyway it was a great book and I highly recommend it !

Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out what I want to watch. I really wanted to watch The Tudors but I'm not sure I should start int he middle and the same with the John Adams series. Lost is into it's what, 3rd season now ? and I was all excited for it, but then I kept forgetting about it. I think my biggest problem is I never know whats coming on when and I have kids up until 9pm and only 1 tv in the house (although the girls generally go read for 30 min before bed and the boys go to bed by 8). I had watched some Lucy Lu show but I can't remember if it was Cashmere Mafia or Lipstick Jungle but needless to say I can't find it on anywhere, and House I've been wanting to watch but I have no idea when it's on ! lol

Not watching much of anything right now, except Battlestar Gallactica Seems I've entered a reading binge for the time being. I'm totally engrossed in the Novel "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. It's an excellent read. It's spooky, funny, thought-provoking and its a page-turner to be sure. I highly recommend it.
Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Didn't poor Neil Gaiman get diagnosed with Alzheimer's? My sister is a big fan of his, but I have yet to pick up one of his books. They're on my list~

Watching: The first season of Scrubs and the first season of Dr. Who.
Reading: Dragon Lance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight

First time reading it. I have to keep reminding myself that it is not a cliche, but a thing that spawned many a cliche. I like the pacing.

It definitely has a lot of copycat stuff, but it's good genre fiction. I read the Chronicles and the Time of the Twins series. The series that follows the children of the Heroes is crap, imho, but I know many who have enjoyed it.

Book 2. Bout 1/3 of the way through, total heartbreak. God, that series brings so many memories.....

Tasslehoff is awesome... what a doorknob.

Nope, Neil Gaman wasn't, Terry Pratchett was.

I'm enjoying the outdoors right now, so not a lot of TV watching, I am reading the Ender's series still though - almost done with Shadow Puppets.

If you liked American Gods you should look for Anansi Boys too.

I loved "Neverwhere" too, but "Anansi Boys" is definitely a good choice if you liked American Gods.

Has anything spawned more D&D or MMPORPG character names then Dragonlance and the Drizzt series?

Yeah, me too, but how many dark elves did you see named:

drizzt
drizzit
driz'd
drizd

I mean, I saw more inkies with that name than I did halflings named Bilbo and Frodo.

Still a good series, I'm only about halfway through, or i was. The library doesn't carry the whole series at my local branch but i think they have all of them tri county combined. I can request them from the other libraries but I can't remember for sure which is the last one i read, the 5th or the 6th lol.

I'm naming my next cat Frodo just out of spite.

Look now you made me forget what I was actually typing. i've been watching Idol too and I am NOT impressed really. There's about 1 contestant who's really good and the rest are just... so so

I don't even watch anymore. Very few of the winners actually make it as stars. Simon is fun and Paula is loaded half the time. I just get the downlo from news shows. I could care less. I'll tune in 5 minutes before the final ends to see the winner. I know it's like reading the last page of the book, but ugh. Life is too short.
