Clinton v. Obama
I'm not familiar enough with the states where "winner takes all" delegates.. but on a delegate by delegate comparison, Obama is kicking Hillary's ass.
Sounds weird of me to say this, but if we're going to have a Democrat in the Oval Office, I'd rather it be Obama. I'm starting to buy into the Kennedy comparisons... lord save me.

Correction Mr. President, I DID build this, and please give Lurker a hug, we wouldn't want to damage his self-esteem.

Re: Clinton v. Obama
Democrats don't do 'winner take all', so unless the vote is real lopsided, they'll both end up close in delegates.
That said, I'm happy so far.

Obama is far more of an unknown quantity than Hillary - some would see that as good and some bad, depending on what they think of the Clintons.

I am anti-dynasties. I won't vote for another Bush for at least 3 generations. And I certainly do not entertain the idea of a power hungry husband/wife both being president. It is just too much power in one group.

Three generations? You plan on living a hell of a lot longer than I do apparently.

Re: Clinton v. Obama
All Bullshit aside.
I see Obama being a better option for america on all sides. With a few uneducated concerns. I have looked into a few things, but admittedly, there are always going to be questions.
What motivates Obama? Is he self made rich or born into money? Hillary made a book, and I knew the minute I picked up that manifest of bullshit, she was going to run for president. I saw Obama made a few books himself. Call me paranoid, but having a Muslim name, even if you claim to not be Muslim, still gives anyone a slight muscle twitch. Then theres the race/gender issue.
I watched the debates last week and was impressed more with Obama than Hillary. PRoblem is, you can talk one thing and walk another.
this proves to be and will be some interesting if not hard times ahead.

Re: Clinton v. Obama
Clinton replaced her campaign manager (not unheard of). But the replacement is... Maggie Williams?????
She was Hillary's personal assistant when Bill was President. She's never run a campaign before. I don't see the sense in this. Hillary was better off with her former campaign manager, than with Williams. About the only thing I can think of, is that Hillary is actually going to run the campaign now, and Williams is campaign manager in name only, but she'll be the hatchet for Hillary's more ruthless decisions. Plausible deniability.
Its a bad sign for the Clinton campaign if Hillary is taking direct control, and an even worse sign of who they put in as the face of the campaign management. Williams comes with a lot of baggage. Its only a matter of days (or hours) before the press start bringing up her lack of honesty and scandals she's had (one of the more notable is the one where a secret service officer swore under oath he saw Williams leave the residence of Vince Foster the night of his "suicide", with stacks of papers in her arms... she called the secret service officer a liar).
Not looking good for Hillary now.

Vince Foster suicide? Um, I don't think Mr. Foster pulled the trigger.
Maggie Williams was the one that took the papers out of Foster's office? Nice. Glad to see the Clinton's remember who got them there.

Well... the US Park Police, the Justice Dept, Congress, the FBI, Fiske, and Ken Starr disagree with you.Finglefinn wrote:Vince Foster suicide? Um, I don't think Mr. Foster pulled the trigger.

Kenn Starr was part of a conspiracy to protect the Clinton's? Amazing.
Thinking the Clinton's murdered Vince Foster ranks right up there with thinking they shuttled cocaine out of Arkansas as signs you might be a wingnut.

Credulous. Probably also believes that Vince was Hillary's lesbian lover, too.

That is some crazy shit to be spouting. Seriously, Ken Starr part of a conspiracy to aid the Clintons?
I really can't stand Hillary, but I find spouting this Rush Limbaugh-esque bullshit to be sad. If you can't make your case against a candidate without going National Enquirer, why bother. It just makes you look silly.

I'm thinking March 11 is the day Hillary will pull out. I mean, out of the race.

Re: Clinton v. Obama
She absolutely must win Texas AND Ohio on March 4th, or she's effectively out. (Doesn't matter what they do with the Florida and Michigan delegates). She's still the favorite to win those two states, but Obama will be coming off a great February (most analysts think he'll win every state between now and the March primaries). Thats a lot of momentum, and momentum plays a huge role in these things. Nobody wants to back a losing horse, and Hillary will be just that, come March. Obama will most likely have both the popular vote and the delegate count on his side.
This has been an amazing political season... I really feel Obama will be the next President of the US.

This really has been a refreshing, exciting political season to me. I felt so completely BLEARG about the last two. On both sides I was just utterly disappointed.Embar Angylwrath wrote:She absolutely must win Texas AND Ohio on March 4th, or she's effectively out. If Obama wins Wisconsin and Hawaii convincingly, this thing is over. Texas and Ohio will not matter one bit.

Really? Show me the math as it pertains to delgate count. I can't see any mathematical certainty until Texas and Ohio are decided.Partha wrote:If Obama wins Wisconsin and Hawaii convincingly, this thing is over. Texas and Ohio will not matter one bit.

Re: Clinton v. Obama
I don't see how any state matters more than another seeing the Democrats don't do winner-takes-all.
If TX and OH are close (which they are likely to be) then the whole thing is still up in the air.
