Bill Clinton addressed a crowd in Minneapolis, Minnesota at a fundraiser for his wife's campaign on Tuesday.
Clinton's 50-minute speech, which started about an hour behind schedule, was derailed briefly by several hecklers in the audience who shouted that the 2001 terrorist attacks were a fraud. Rather than ignoring them, Clinton seemed to relish a direct confrontation.
"A fraud? No, it wasn't a fraud," Clinton said, as the crowd cheered him on. "I'll be glad to talk to you if you shut up and let me talk."
When another heckler shouted that the attacks were an "inside job," Clinton took even greater umbrage.
"An inside job? How dare you. How dare you. It was not an inside job," Clinton said. "You guys have got to be careful, you're going to give Minnesota a bad reputation."

I agree with Bill Maher - I may not agree with Bush on much, but I'll back him on this.
Of course, that's mostly because they're complete fuckups, and had they tried to bring down the WTC themselves, it would have ended up with an extra couple floors instead. But 9/11 wasn't an inside job.

Re: Bill Clinton...my new hero
First of all, kudos to Bill for plainly placing shame where shame is due.
Second, I am really impressed by this Clinton campaign. Hillary could have burned a lot of votes by uttering what Bill did. The hard (read: insane, far, far, to the left of Partha left, I'm talking Cindy Sheehan, moonbat left) left would not accept such a comment from Hillary. Bill, with his killer rep and authoritative pater familias stature, was the only Clinton that could deliver that line with money. The center still likes the "Big Dog", but they don't much like the Troofers. The hard left loves the Troofers, but also like the "Big Dog".
Classic Clinton Triangulation, and I applaud it.

Bill's playing the role of a VP to Hillary in the primaries. A President can't be smacking people down, but the VP can be the political hatchet guy without any real problem.

Your entire post is just nutty. The far left doesn't like either Clinton. The far left does not think 9/11 was an inside job. Did Bush use 9/11 to push all sorts of stupid policies he wanted to push before the attacks anyways? Absolutely. Did he plan and carry out the attacks? Of course not.Chants wrote:The hard left loves the Troofers, but also like the "Big Dog"

The "hard left", what you describe as the "insane, far, far...moonbat left", doesn't add up to a lot of people, and only a fraction of them think 9/11 was an inside job. And they certainly aren't fans of either Clinton. Hillary wouldn't have burned any votes responding.
This was just Clinton putting a heckler in his place the same way he has his entire political career. There was no triangulation involved.

Who am I to believe? Lurker, or my own lying eyes?
I've see countless leftist protest marches over the past 5 or 6 years. They were literally crawling with Troofers.
I wouldn't know what LIHOP and MIHOP were if not for DU and The Daily KOS.
And now you're here telling me that the hard left doesn't need to wash some Troofer stink off of it?
Get real.

9/11 conspiracy theories are a banned topic at Daily KOS. No clue about DU.Chants wrote:I wouldn't know what LIHOP and MIHOP were if not for DU and The Daily KOS.
I'm not saying that there isn't a very tiny group of people that think 9/11 was an inside job. My point is that they are a very tiny group that isn't embraced by the left or the far left. Also, your belief that Bill is well liked by the far left is just wrong.
The nuttiest part of your post though is that some sort of triangulation was involved; that Hillary had Bill take on this burning issue (yeah, that's sarcasm) to protect votes. That's just way the hell out there, Chants.

In all fairness, there is fair number of right-wing survivalist loonies who think 9/11 was orchestrated by the government (with aid from the tri-lateral corporation, the Jews and papists)

Sorry Lurker, but if KOS had to ban all troofer 911 conspiracy theories, then that's not a small minority problem. That's an extermination. The left is infested with troofer BS, KOS knows it, and they had to act.
Funny how the left has to ban shit just to appeal to the mainstream. It's almost as through they know they are full of shit.

Hardly.
On a message board it only takes a few nutballs to dominate every thread, even on a board with hundreds of thousands of participants. There was no mass exodus or dip in traffic at DailyKoS after that topic was banned; just a ton of grateful posters.
As Embar pointed out, there is a tiny minority of nuts on both the right and left that think 9/11 was an inside job.
And as I pointed out, your original point about triangulation was just stunningly idiotic.

It's not quite clear.
Are you defending the purge, or are you saying it was no biggie? I mean, there was purge, correct? Regardless of the net effect, purge tactics were used, no?
As for the triangulation thing, man, those canned questions were a little untimely, no, Lurker?

It's not accurate to call it a purge, but I support banning the topic. It is absurd and offensive, and on a message board a small number of people can dominate every thread. I still have to laugh at how wrong your original statement was, that "The hard left loves the Troofers, but also like the "Big Dog". Totally and utterly wrong on both points.Chants wrote:Are you defending the purge, or are you saying it was no biggie?

Did you not pay any attention at all to mass-media political discussions in the Clinton Era?Chants Evensong wrote:Sorry Lurker, but if KOS had to ban all troofer 911 conspiracy theories, then that's not a small minority problem. Sure I'm not from your country, and we didnt actually really start paying attention to the propaghanda you spew until you CAME UP WITH A NUCLEAR DEFENSE SYSTEM THAT INVOLVED DETONATING INCOMING ICFUCKBMS OVER OUR GODAMN HEADS but I seem to remember quite a bit of tinfoillica coming from the other end of the Isle at the time.
Not that it truly matters when the basis of your defense plans revolve around DETONATING NUCLEAR FUCKING WEAPONS on top of us. Have I told you to go fuck yourself today?
I dont even remember what the hell I was talking about.
