So I finally got one off ebay and am trying to find games that I will like for it.

So far on the list of games I need to get are:

Fuzion Frenzy 2 (I've heard it sucked, but the first one is something we play a lot of)
Gears of War
Bioshock
Halo 3
Orange Box

Any other suggestions from ya'll? Most all the games I play on console I play with other people, so multi player game suggestions are ++.

Games I'm waiting for:
Silent Hill 5
Soul Calibur 4
Mass Effect - Despite not being multiplayer, Star Wars KotOR amazed me. I've never been much of the single player RPG type but I couldn't set the game down. It looks like Mass Effect is going to be the same game with better graphics, a longer game, and no star wars theme. (meh) I can't wait.

The KI games have always been my favorite fighting games. Primal Rage, Mortal Kombat, and Soul Calibur are great too but something about KI always brought me back.

P.S. Although too scary for me, the few minutes I saw of Bioshock were amazing -fantastic art direction.

A friend and I have been playing through Bioshock. So far it's a pretty fun game. The graphics are beautiful, especially the water.

I've heard otherwise. I heard it does indeed suck if you rush the game and just want to beat it ASAP rather than playing for enjoyment.

The reviews were bashing the graphics (pop in, tearing, lack of effort to finish the PS3 engine), the repetitiveness of the quests, and the 2nd character adding absolutely nothing to the story. I guess it is probably best to describe it as not properly living up to the hype it generated. It is not a game of the year contender such as Halo 3 or COD4, but it is not the bottom of the barrel either.

The reality though with games is reviews are not an indication that you will actually like it or not.

Assassin's Creed is, to put it best, what Prince of Persia always wanted to be, but couldn't.

And yes, the game is not about rushing through it at all. And I do believe they rushed the port on PS3 because, iirc, it was orginally only slated for Xbox360.

Reviews tell you what the game is about.. not whether you will like it or not. Tax can form his own opinion based on the constructive elements of the review (art direction for example).

You stated AC looks AMAZING.. and I passed along some specific complaints about others had with the game. So go away before you fuck up another thread.

Yes - Assassin's Creed was originally slated as a PS3 exclusive, but Sony wouldn't fork over the cash they wanted to not port it (basically they estimated their X360+PC profits and demanded it from Sony), so it ended up not exclusive at all.

The PS3 hardware is superior to the X360 hardware when you look at the raw power available. The problem is the power is tied down by the esoteric nature of the hardware itself and the sheer amount of effort required to figure out how to get all parts of the Cell processor working efficiently. The X360 went for a more generic CPU/Vidcard solution and is therefore a better understood and developer-friendly system. The balance of it all is the X360 tends to at least equal the PS3 in the final presentation of a game and it takes a game developer less time and effort to get it to that state on the X360.

Thanks for the confirmation on AC..

Knew the rest on 360/PS3... but i thought that CoD4 was a wakeup call to the industry that the only thing stopping people from doing it properly is themselves. Granted not all developers want to put the resources into it, but that is their choice not a failure of the hardware.
