Where do I start....
Stephen R Donaldson has written one of the defining series in genre of epic fantasy. Add to that, the series revolves around an anti-hero, full of self-doubt, flawed and entirely too human. The defining themes in this series embrace perserverance in spite of failure, and the ability ot do great deeds preciscely because we are flawed. I don't want to give too much of the story line away, but suffice to say Donaldson has lived up to the expectations yet again, and I eagerly await the third book (two more to go before Donaldson brings this journey to an end).
If any of you want a good set of novels in which to immerse yourself, I highly recommend this series.

Not going to give in to temptation. Gonna sit on my hands for 3-4 years until all the books are out then I'm going to read them all the way though without having to wait 2 years to find out what happens next.

Re: Fatal Revenant
I finished the first three just this year and loved them (I think I started this series based on recommendations here)! I'm glad this one is living up to expectations, more to look forward to!Klast Brell wrote:Not going to give in to temptation. Re: Fatal Revenant
Actually Klast, the first two sets of books are sort of independent from the last set. The last set happens in the same world, but different characters come into play. Although the last set is billed as the final in the story-line, its more like its the final for the world setting. There is really only one major character who returns for the final series (at least so far), and that is Linden Avery.Klast Brell wrote:Not going to give in to temptation. What Im saying is, the first two sets are pretty much independent from the last set. There really isn't a cliff-hanger in the final book of the second set. Its almost like Donaldson was comfortable ending it there (but I'm glad he didn't).

Re: Fatal Revenant
I already read the first and second chronicles about 4 times. I re read them about every 5 years or so. I just want to wait untill this final chronicle is complete before sitting down to read it.
