Click the banner. No it won't bite or blow up your five year old computer. Yeah I understand the primary kneejerk reaction but what do you have to lose? Sure it has less graphics than Bard's Tale of 1982 but it has a player population of more than 366,000. It has modern attractions of guilds, auction house, bank, lotteries, crafting, blacksmith, etc. Unlike other MMOs, your character is up 24/7 whether you are logged in or not. Your character will automatically fight back if attacked by another player. You can't play around the clock because you will run out of stamina points and no longer be able to move or fight. It recoups by 50 per hour so it takes 10 hours to fully recharge to the max of 500.
Thanks Turaylon, whoever you are. I've picked up three FS points and you can do the same. It helps fund the company since there is no subscription. You can auction FS points ingame for 15,000 gold each which is far more more useful at low levels. It's a waste to use FPS points on low level gear. High levels need them for upgrades and are willing to pay. While logged in, open the upgrade link and check out free points and recruit. If you have a secondary email account that you don't mind being spammed and can suffer through the advertizing and survey crap, that's another good source for FS points. It provides a source of revenue to help the game company pay their operating costs.
It appears that I was mistaken about auctioning FSP but there are ways to make a secure trade with other players or a direct game trade for gold. 3 FSP nets 1,500 gold which is a bit short of 15,000.

It's just a web based multiplayer game. Company is legit and well established. The owner of the company has a few good books out so it doesn't appear that there's anything particularly risky about trying the game.
Obviously, if you click on that banner to sign up then you give in-game points to Erinos.

Thanks! If you decide to give it a try, I could probably round up a few goodies to send you ingame. I have to destroy stuff because of limited storage.
Didn't know there were so many. So you're saying that they all better than FS? Not that it really matters. I don't know how anyone could get addicted to a text based game. It's just a mindless time waste on any computer anywhere with a connection, like at work. /points
The FS staff is trying a new trick by giving players 2 FSP per day if they will allow ads in the left column under the menu. Minor problem! Log file says points have been awarded but the points don't show up. The whine chorus kicked in and the staff decided to take a vacation.
http://rappelz.gpotato.com/ Its an english version of a Korean grind mmo with somewhat decent classes (that are really customizable until you reach a lvl where you max out and then you are the same as anybody else except for gear type upgrades) has decent graphics for being free (about on par with lineage 2) its free to download/play and has a cash shop that you should never bother buying anything in (you can purchase cash shop items from players and making gold is pretty easy in this game)
It was too easy for me so I quit it but it was fun up until I got bored and the price is right.

I've actually put money into KoL, strange as that might sound. It's pretty fun to play, and the dev team is pretty involved and committed to the whole project.
I played Everquest for a while and paid for that despite relatively shitty content. Sometimes it's not about the content or game style or whatever.
Gothic Ages is the title for our upcoming fully 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Fantasy RPG. Current development progress of the game now includes world building, item design, and finalisation of various aspects of the code. With that said we are still keeping alot of features under wraps for the time being. The game will play through a 3rd person perspective of your character in a real time 3d world embedded in the browser using ChopLib's unique 3D Engine technology.
With vast worlds to explore and creatures to kill, Gothic Ages will be an experience on a massive scale. Your character will be equipped with weapons, skills and magical abilities to help you in your journey through quests across the vast plains, dungeons and mysterious lands to come.
It appears that most of these work about the same with the exception of gothic ages yet to be released. I'm getting bored with fallen sword. I don't know how people do it for 130 levels.
I'll take a look at KOL and the others when I get a chance. I did EQ on and off for almost five years and Luclin was the last expansion that I was involved in. I did WoW until last December and quit before the expansion from the boredom and lack of content. After EQ, WoW just felt so easy and simplistic. Leveling up was not challenging at all.
Alright! Here I am 147 levels later and I'm still a noob. I no longer recommend this game. It's mind numbing. I continue it because I burn off my stamina in 30 minutes and don't have to go back for 24 hours. People wise, it's probably more mature than graphical MMOs. It's not that I can't afford it, but I've donated more money to this game than pay2play for the same time period.
Don't bother signing up for Fallensword on my behalf. I see someone just did and this is the only place I've put up the banner. I won't collect FSP unless the recruit reaches level 25 and I wouldn't expect anyone to do that.
