Goddamn I hate Mary Jane. "enough about you and your problems of risking your life everyday to save strangers for no compensation whatsoever, I'm only 20 and in a broadway play and I got bad reviews so this is MY pity party"
I hope apocolypse is in #4 and that he orders his horsemen to sodomize her with grain augers.

I didn't feel like it was a waste of money when I saw it, but compared to the first and second films Spiderman 3 was a bit of a letdown. It seemed like they were trying too hard. Too many different directions and because of that, each direction felt abbreviated. I'm sure some better continuity would have helped.
I saw Next a few days beforehand though and found that to be a really good film. I highly recommend it.

Re: Spiderman 3
So I finally watched this film last night. If it was not for a couple of halfway decent fight scenes between Sandman, Venom and Spidey, this movie would have been completely unwatchable.
1. Uber-cheesy lines. The contrived emotional crap between MJ and Harry, MJ and Peter, Sandman and Spidey, etc. And little snipit lines from extras that added to the bad cheeseball stuff. Some kids yelled something stupid in a cut away from a sequence, (I think at the key ceremony) that made me want to puke.
2. Bad writing pretty much all the way through. Somehow, the entire script rubbed me the wrong way. The lines were badly delivered and totally not believeable.
3. Over the top emo. Peter's emo phase in the middle of the movie was laughable.
4. Over the top emotional exchanges between all the characters. I counted 7 different exchanges where at least one of the characters cried. I'm sorry, but that was lamer than lame.
5. The film went long stretches without going back to the development of Sandman and Venom. I was not happy with the lack of screentime they received. In previous films, Goblin and Octavian got lots of character development screen time. Venom got very little and Sandman barely got enough so that you were comfortable with him.
6. The dramatic elements and fight scenes were good, but not great. They lacked the intensity of previous films. Maybe I'm getting numb to fight scenes like this.
Overall, I am very glad I did not go to see this in the theater. After getting excited about the previews, I was very disappointed.
My grade: C
