Level3 cut off cognet(or something like that) today from their services... affected nearly every Roadrunner customer.

Sadly, I have roadrunner and it cut me off from nearly half my bookmarks.. (brellrants.net, FU, Megatokyo, PA, RL Comics)... In fact, I only got on here through a proxy.

They really need to make the updating to routing and DNS's on the internet faster than it currently is for when shit like this happens.

NOt sure routing is going to help out at all. From what i undertand its blocked completly so if its on level3 network your only going get there through a proxie untill they settle this shit. But again i am not 100% sure on that i have only ready snippets of what actually transpired over the demand for cash.

On another note cognet is offering 1 year free broadband to any level3 customer effected by this outage.

routing to Freedom underground and the various Brell boards is working again, however I'm still without my webcomics.

Can't prevent 1 company from entering your network, specifically if you're partnered with another company that they are... they'll still get access, it'll just take their routing systems some time to pick up on the new way to go.

That's some pretty seriously cruddy routing then. If they had a decent BGP border then it would have picked up in about a minute.
