Tech Help - EQ Connectivity

Hey, im trying to connect to EQ through a wireless network but it refuses to connect. It also does this when i try to connect to Steam(Half-Life). my computer has no problem with this stuff when im using a hard wire. I dont think its a network problem because I have seen other people connect to WoW wirelessly. Any Ideas on what could be doing this? I have both windows and my 3rd party firewall off. Thanks

Can you surf the web on the wireless connection?
Does IM work on the wireless connection?
Who set up the wireless? You or someone else?

I can surf just fine, i can connect to trillian just fine. The network was set up by some admin, its my school wireless network. But if that one guy can run WoW on it shouldnt i be able to run EQ or Steam?

Not necessarily. He may have blocked EQ and Steam but not WoW. Easiest thing to do is just ask him what's blocked.

Ok, but if it is unblocked then any idea what could be causing this?

If it's unblocked then it wouldn't be happening. The very problem is that its blocked somewhere and you need to find out where.

Eq has been out for how long - and your warrior is using that crap. I think my eyes started bleeding just looking @ the piece of shit you put on your warrior.

come on man just strip it and ebay - itll be simpler than trying to get it to work on the wireless network.

This something that happened recently? Like say, within the last month or so, following a windows patch or anything by chance?

Not that I recommend it, but I had a similar problem after a windows upgrade connecting to certain internet based items. I don't think EQ was one of them, but I haven't been playing much either. I could get on messenger, browse the web, but couldn't connect to my work's RAS site, for one thing.

Windows Firewall got enabled, even though I had set it not to, since I have my own firewall setup. As soon as I disabled Windows Firewall, my wireless connection worked fine. I'm sure it's indicative of a different setup issue, but I haven't had time to figure out what yet. Anyways, just a thought.
