Seed random makes sense for when the RNG was client side. From the explaination, the RNG was a function of time so you could set your computer's clock at the same time you /randomed and it would always come up a predictable number. By putting in the "seed" step, this eliminated people being able to roll *high* in a predictable fashion (although they could still roll low if they wanted I guess).

Now the RNG is server side, it's irrelavent and just a peculiar server custom.

So why don't they /random 10000 twice to determine from which two numbers the seed roll will be made?

it makes it more interesting doing /random 1000 to set the seed.

other then that i like it much better then alpha rolling cause thats just bs u have a much higher chance of winning from setting a seed then alpha rolling cause when u alpha roll the same number comes up more then like maybe 4 times in a row....

who cares if the same number comes up more than once in a row? The person that was that number before is removed from the rolling until everyone has won something.

Seed rolling was usefull back before kunark when you could cheat and always roll a 99 or something. Now it is just annoying.

I dunno Loo. The more Brellian 'alpha' system suggests people can read, which is more of a stretch than seed rolling in a few cases.
