Wouldn't take long before it went right back to how it is these days. Everyone would have a druid, massive amounts of plat, and then the crap economy would fall on us again... it happens in any and every game. It's called a capitalist society, we live in one, and we encourage our kids to look out for number one with standardized test scores, sexual harassment laws, and affirmative action. Whatever happened to people being equal and just getting along without trying to screw each other over?
Let's get rid of greed, feminists, and SUVs! YAY!

Just curious if anyone else would support this...

I don't think this would work. The reason EQ was so much fun pre-Velious, imo, is that it was all new. It's not anymore and no amount of rehashing old content will bring that back.
I tried every way I could think of to stay interested in EQ but like you, I done lost that lovin' feelin'. I've found it again in WoW although, thankfully, it's not the time sink EQ became for me.
It wasn't just learning the game in the beginning that was fun, it was the people and the personalities that emerged. Hope you find some fun again or a good replacement.
