George W Bush -March 19, 2003Our nation enters this conflict reluctantly -- yet, our purpose is sure. The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder. We will meet that threat now, with our Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and Marines, so that we do not have to meet it later with armies of fire fighters and police and doctors on the streets of our cities.

There are numerous other countries that actually have WMD and WMD programs. If this is why he had to go, then we had a number of other countries we should have invaded higher up the list.Kulaf wrote:"[Saddam] wanted to end sanctions while preserving the capability to reconstitute his weapons of mass destruction when sanctions were lifted,"
And that's why.......He had to go.

Ignoring most of the political filler in that article only 2 important points remain.
1. The new Iraqi government will be in charge of continuing the investigation.
2. Current manpower is better used in other areas to stabalize Iraq.
Short and sweet, they are just dealing with more important issues now. Not to mention by tossing the ball in a fledgling government's lap, they can use it as a scapegoat if nothing is ever found. Someone made a good call.

Japan - WWII.
Britain also depopulated a Scottish island (Guiniard) by accident.
Oh, and the Soviets in Afghanistan. I won't even mention the US in Vietnam, since you asked so nicely.

So should only aim at them that have on large scale then shit we should bomb the USA into the ground then.
I think we should have focused on them we know have them and the mean to use them and threation to and try to prove they have the ability (IE North Korea) if we are going to wage preemptive war on piss ant countrys that dis like us.
Ohhh my bad if they could actuly hurt us at some level they are no longer piss ants...
How honestly belives Iraq could have used anything on us even if they really really really wanted too in the next 10 years? Esp since they been going backwords in time for the last 13....
So we are going after everyone whens the draft? Once the stop loss goes away going to be major issues trying to gain man power for the armed forces.... Perhaps bush will privatize that as well.

Or denying food supplies to major portion of a countries population. In Vietnam I remember they were careful not to bomb dams, it somehow was considered a different form of killing. Biological warefare maybe not for sure. But killing people dead, is killing them dead. Kind of matters little to me what name you put on it.
But usually US folks, worry more about the things that could be delivered to their door step. Most Terrorists dont have access to the fleets of bombers that it took to firestorm Dresden.

I think the argument was more, terroists did attack and did hurt us. < a group willing to hurt at ANY costs> There was a country with WMD's that had used them, showed little reguard for life and seemed to at some levels promote terrorism. <access possibly for terrorists> Since Iraq was continuing to skirt the aggrements on WDM's and most intellegence communities claimed he had or was near having Nukes. They did what they did. People like to paint this stuff as black and white. It always is gray and arguments can usually be made for both sides. Armchair quarterbacking can be such a satisfing sport.Syeni Soulslasher MK6 wrote:Aabe wrote:Other than the US what other countries have actually used them??Iraq as well as Iran.. But as you say the US is no lilly white innocent. Having talked with enough people that lived through WWII, I'm at peace with the nukes that were dropped on Japan to end a war. But I seem to recall one of our presidents Truman I think, threatened to nuke Russia if they didnt withdraw from somewhere after WWII, perhaps it was Afganistan I cant remember. But once Russia got nukes, that kind of threatening ended. And it became much more "discrete" and under the table. Of all the things the US has done I actually am most disturbed by the firestoming we did in Dresden.
North Korea, borders on China. Any action there could balloon to China and oh what a mess. Who is worse Iraq, NK maybe soon Iran? I don't know. Time will tell. But they all are completely different beasts and you seldom can solve three very different problems with the same solution.
You may be right about it being the wrong solution to have invaded Iraq. But North Korea or Iran should have NO place in your argruments about whether it was right or wrong to invade Iraq. Each is a very different case, each will require very different solutions.

Wow, I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info. I knew they did mass kiling of innocents, but I missed they used biological weapons to do it.Tholiak Eladamri wrote:Japan dropped bombs on China carrying Plague infected fleas..killed hundreds of thousands..Aabe wrote:What WMD did Japan use??
Hmmm, need to add Custer to your list of WMD uses. He ordered blankets used by soldiers with small pox to be given to the Indians. What a guy.
