7 and 1, because that's what it is. You're apparently missing every fucking point I am trying to make.Flaten wrote:So what should the Patriot's record be then?
I never said they suck in all aspects of the game. I gave a comprehensive breakdown of each of the major areas of Football. Note, however, I left out Special Teams because except for Punters and Kickers, special teams is really hard to gauge. Lemme dumb this down for you so you can understand:Sounds like they suck in all aspects of the game, I guess they should be like 1 - 7 then. If the formula for winning is so simple then why don't all the teams in the NFL do it?
Pats offense: Passing - Good... Rushing - Inconsistent.
Pats defense: Passing - Good even with the injuries... Rushing - inconsistent.
Coaching: Good, if somewhat fortunate.
Because it's unnecessary for a tight end to play linebacker unless you have no other alternative. The Pats had little choice in the matter of sticking Troy Brown in there considering all their injuries to cornerbacks. However, they will try to either sign corners this week from the practice squad or free agency because they dont want Troy Brown to have to play CB all the time. He's a WR for a reason, thats what they signed him for and thats what they want him to play.If it's so easy for linebackers to play tight end why don't other teams do it? I'll just take win after win from a bunch of nobodies who couldn't start on any other team.
As for the formula for the Pat's success, take a damn long fine look at a lot of the good fortune they have had. Who beat the Colts in week one, the Pats or the Colts? If you can answer that question honestly, then you are capable of objectively looking at your home team.
I know what beat us in every single game except the Rams loss. Nobody can explain that one. Meltdown of defense in the last 5 minutes. It seems that simple, but it's probably more complex. A combination of Mike Martz just saying "fuck it", Ray Rhodes not thinking that Martz would do such things, young talent who we had no real information on making big plays, and the Seahawks #1 defensive players themselves perhaps getting complacent and / or flustered and not ever recovering.
This is how I view football. There is more to the game then simple numbers and wins and losses. However, good teams will get wins when they have to and take wins when they're given to them. That's how it works.
Y'know why I called the Dolphins a 0 - 16 team at the beginning of the year? Because they had nothing positive at all going for them on offense, and while their defense is top notch, it can't stop everybody forever. But the Dolphins, as evidenced by that win over the Rams, CAN WIN football games and look really good doing it. Anybody can put together a victory any given sunday against any other team. The Patriots right now are doing it for all but one game. Kudos to them.
But I still recognize "luck" when I see it.
Of the starting players, right now, I wouldn't say any of them are below average except for whomever they get to play corner back next week, but I don't know each of the 53 people on their team. I am sure someone in there sucks.we suck and your seahawks are better how???? last i check we beat the seasucks and only lsot 1 game howe bout them sea hawks. it doesnt take alot of star to win all it takes are peple who are good or above good but noty great. find me one sb par player on the pats. god damn even brady runs with his urnning backs and lifts w ith his linemen. what does that tell u
I never once said the Patriots suck. I said they're overrated. They're overdue for a collossal string of loses. Looking at the schedule they have left, I can see where some teams are going to give them trouble.
Bills are always troublesome for the Pats, no matter how much the Bills suck offensively. They have to play the Chiefs IN Kansas City. That should be interesting. Ravens Defense should give them fits. Going to play the Browns in the Dog Pound is always tough. Bengals at home shouldn't be too much a problem. Playing at Miami will cause defensive problems, but Miami should fall easily. @ the Jets kind of hinges right now on whether or not Pennington is going to play, but this will still be a tough game at the Meadowlands. And at home vs 49ers. Shouldn't be a problem there.
So realistically, you could be looking at at least 2 or 3 losses from here on out. Oh sure, you could run the table, but that isn't likely, especially if injuries pile up. Yes, you did well last year with a lot of injuries, but that can't last forever either. Something big is going to catch up to the Pats eventually and it wont be pretty for you New England faithful when it does. If it doesn't then I'll be happily wrong. I wont care, they're not my team. So if I am wrong then I am wrong. But I have a gut feeling about this.
Well that's three. And inevitably every player on the Pats will become a star if they keep winning. Popularity will do that to a team. You've forgotten Vinetari and Corey Dillon too. Deion Branch, David Patten, and Givens have all gained popularity. Right now I'd put them on the same level as Darrell Jackson in terms of popularity, but Jackson is still the better receiver. D-Jack is constantly growing and improving into something pretty awesome.a let me immitate u
pats have all sucky guys not even one star.....besides the pro bowler ty law besides bruschi and besides brady
Anyway, apples to oranges. Right now the Seahawks and the Patriots are very similar in terms of star power. Seahawks don't have a lot of big time stars either. Shaun Alexander is the only person who ever gets national press. And now we have Jerry Rice, but I don't think he counts much anymore. Nope, both teams do their jobs with what they have. Only difference is Pats haven't melted down yet. But it will happen.

How can you judge the Patriots so much if you say that the only game you saw was the one against the seahawks? I live in Foxboro, and am a Pat's fan, have been for as long as I can remember. Yes, I do think they are overrated, but I do think they are much better than you are giving them credit for.

I said that before recalling that 2 other games have been shown in my area, though I did not pay as much attention to them because one was a Monday Night game (I have a night lab class) and the other was on this last weekend at the same time the Seahawks were playing the 49ers (Rams / Pats). However, even without those two other games, it's not hard at all to find files, media, and highlights of other teams performances. I watch NFL Primetime with the TV muted (except when Chris Berman sings the little "If I only Had A Brain" ditty for Marc Bulger, that cracks me the fuck up) and make my own conclusions based on what I see.Thorg Frostfist wrote:How can you judge the Patriots so much if you say that the only game you saw was the one against the seahawks? I may not have been the greatest football player when I played in high school, I may suck at baseball, but if there's one thing I can do, it's analyze sports. I'm getting better with it as I get older too.

Until you get at least 4...do not even speak of the word dynasty.
