….there was discussion of the Tea Party fracturing the Republican party? It seems the Socialist wing of the Democrats is bound and determined to do the same.

This election is shaping up to be pretty special.

Yeah it was seeming to be a lock until China unleashed hell on the world. Now everything is up in the air. Biden is clearly suffering from early stage dementia, I can't see him beating Trump.

I'm really not sure what is going to happen right now. Not convinced Biden or Trump have dementia - it's not hard for evil editing to show what you want. The debates (if they happen) should sort some of that out. Biden is clearly the compromise candidate from the Dems, and Trump is doing his level best to lose as much credibility as possible in the face of a pandemic, so uh, good luck with that?

Biden clearly has signs of Sundowning. This is why late in the day he gets irritable and starts telling people to go vote for someone else, insults them, or tries to instigate fights with them, which he has now done twice.

He has told people to support his run for the Senate, go vote for the other Biden, etc. etc.. It's sad to see, but anyone who would support putting him in office is deluding themselves that he is the man he once was.

That's pretty much why I think a robust debate would cover it. If Biden truly has Alzheimer's then evening debates will be completely disastrous for him. If he's snappy, to the point and not repeating himself inappropriately then it's hard to argue mental failing.
